Cometa fut construit en 1946 pour J.P Wilson. Le yacht a passé 40 ans sur le lac Michigan, puis a fait un tour du monde de 3 ans. Acheté par Peter Wood, il fut rebaptisé Cometa et restauré chez Boat Dreams. Les membrures et tout l’intérieur ont été refaits en teck et en chêne. Du point de vue de ses formes, Cometa ressemble beaucoup à un autre plan Stephens Stormy Weather.
Comet came off Olin Stephen’s (Sparkman & Stephens) drawing board in 1945 and was built in Chicago, USA in 1946. Comet is very similar with another Stephen’s design, Stormy Weather. Built for J.P.Wilson, the yacht spent 40 years on the Michigan Lake, then undertook a world tour. Bought by Peter Wood, she was christened Cometa and fully restored at Boat Dreams by Robin Watson. Part of the lower frames and the Plankings were renewed with oak and teak.
