Moonbeam IV commandé en 1914, ne sera armé qu'en 1920, après la Grande Guerre. Le décrire, c'est décrire la griffe de William Fife qui cherchait toujours plus que les autres, l'élégance des formes, la vitesse et le confort. C'est le quatrième et dernier de la série des Moonbeam, avec Moonbeam of Fife, un des bateaux les plus célèbres de l'architecte. Construit en teck, avec une surface de voilure sous spi de 900m², le yacht a remporté deux fois la prestigieuse King's cup et lutté avec succès contre les plus grands et les plus beaux bateaux de la "Big Class". Moonbeam IV fut acheté en 1950 par le Prince Rainier de Monaco. Rebaptisé Deo Juvante, le prince Rainier et la princesse Grace y passèrent leur lune de miel. De 1999 à 2001, le yacht a subi une restauration complète aux chantiers Yanmar de Rangon en Birmanie et depuis nous rappelle en Méditerranée l'âge d'or des années 1920.

In the mid-years of the nineteenth century, schooners dominated but from the early1880’s they were eclipsed by a new generation of large single-masted cutters.
The fourth, final and largest Moonbeam designed by William Fife Junior was first commissioned in 1914 and launched after the Great War, in 1920. She perhaps could be best described and defined as the combination of a racer and a cruiser, which has always been the aim of William Fife, combining the speed of a racer with the comfort of a cruiser and elegance ! a vessel anybody would be proud to own. And her beauty is not only skin deep; her stylish interior has the look and feel of a gentlemen’s club. Moonbeam IV is one of the finest Gaff Cutters of the early 20th century ever built and winner of the prestigious King’s Cup at Cowes in 1920 & 1923. In 1950,Moonbeam IV was bought by Prince Rainier, renamed Deo Juvante. The Prince Rainier and Princess Grace spent their honeymoon aboard. The boat was fully restored at Yanmar Shipyard in Burma and now for our enjoyment, remind us the golden age of the twenties elite.
